We are delighted to share that our National Director, Alisa Latty-Alleyne, will be featured on BBC’s Songs of Praise here in the UK this Sunday, All Souls’ Day 2025.
All Souls’ Day is a time to pause, remember, and give thanks for the lives of all who have accepted Jesus and have now entered their heavenly home. It’s a day that invites us to reflect – to honour those who have gone before us and to find comfort in the promise of eternal life.
But remembrance also brings emotion. Losing someone we love, whether or not we have assurance of their faith, can still leave a deep ache in our hearts. Knowing they are with the Lord doesn’t erase the pain – but it gives us hope. Hope that they are safe, whole, and embraced by the love of God.
Alisa understands that hope through personal experience. Having lost her late husband in 2015 and, more recently, her beloved sister, she has walked the valley of grief with remarkable courage and grace. This Sunday, she will share her story and her faith journey on Songs of Praise, offering viewers an honest and heartfelt glimpse into how God continues to meet her in seasons of sorrow and renewal.
During the programme, Alisa will also speak from her book, From Grief to Glory – a moving collection of reflections on finding God’s purpose and presence amid the pain of loss. As the title suggests, Alisa believes that while grief is never easy, God can transform even our deepest wounds into a testimony of His glory. He shapes and refines us through sorrow, drawing us closer to the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ.
At CBN UK, we share in that message of hope. All Souls’ Day reminds us to honour the past, embrace the present, and look forward with faith to the promise of reunion. We take this moment to pray for all who are grieving – that the peace of Christ will surround you, comfort you, and lift your heart with the assurance of His love.
As the Apostle Paul wrote:
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
(Philippians 1:21, NIV)
May God bless you richly this All Souls’ Day. And if you are walking your own path of grief and healing, please know that you are not alone – our prayers and heartfelt compassion are with you.
You can watch the All Souls’ Day episode of Songs of Praise on BBC One at 1:15pm on Sunday 2nd November 2025.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7-8
