Operation Blessing

A Miracle in the Making

Myles* and her three older siblings first came to Destiny’s Promise Home for Children, a project supported by Operation Blessing, in August 2012. The conditions that they were living in at home were very poor and were putting the children at risk.

Myles was just 3 years old and was very small. Due to her tough start in life, she was severely malnourished and had many other health complications. Through the provision of Destiny’s Promise, Myles and her siblings were cared for and supported as they began to grow. Although their admission to the program through social services was only intended to be a temporary measure, as time went past, the hope of family reunification became increasingly unlikely.

In February 2018, their birthmother gave up Myles and two of her older siblings for adoption.

Despite this upsetting time, Myles remained firm in her hope that one day she would have a family.

Now, Myles has recently finished 10th Grade. She is continuing to grow strong in her academic studies, as well as in her faith in Jesus. Through the program she has also been provided with special classes, helping her to deal with her traumatic upbringing and the wounds from her past.

The school director reported that, “Myles is a confident and sociable pupil who consistently demonstrates enthusiasm and capability across all areas of her studies. Energetic and lively, Myles is a valued member of her class, and she continues to uphold her role with a commendable level of respect and focus, setting a positive example for others. Her cheerful disposition also contributes to a positive classroom atmosphere, making her an important part of the school community.”

At the heart of the work of Operation Blessing is a desire to not just meet the immediate needs of the children, families, and communities we serve, but to make deep, long-lasting impact in their lives. This holistic approach to care not only addresses physical need but gives emotional and spiritual support. Because of your giving to Operation Blessing and the CBN Family of ministries, Myles has been nurtured in many ways. She has been equipped socially, academically, and spiritually for her future.

And through it all, Myles has held on to hope. Hope in Jesus and in the hope of a new family. Now, at 16 years old, Myles was matched with a family from the United States and is beginning that journey to a new future together. We believe her match was a miracle and answer to countless prayers.

Through the support of donors, just like you, Destiny’s Promise Home for Children can provide a loving home for many children like Myles. The stable and loving environment is key in preparing and nurturing these children, building hope for a future where they can thrive. Through your support, your giving and your prayers, lives are being changed every day, one step at a time.
