Your generous donation will support a shoe-making training initiative in Kano, Nigeria.
In August, Afolake Legacy — in partnership with the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) — aims to raise £10,000 to support a transformative shoe-making training initiative in Kano, Nigeria.
Building on the success of 2023, this year’s project will double its reach by training 15 women and young people in shoe-making, equipping them with the skills to gain employment or start their own cobbler businesses.
But this program goes beyond craftsmanship. Participants will also receive training in:
This initiative targets communities affected by high levels of poverty, unemployment, and insurgency. It’s designed to create sustainable economic opportunities and empower participants to break free from generational cycles of poverty. Some may even return to school to continue their education.
This legacy project is more than just a training course — it’s about job creation, economic empowerment, and building a generation of entrepreneurs ready to lead with purpose.
Because I believe legacy isn’t just about what we leave behind… it’s about what we build, who we impact, and the lives we transform along the way.
