Christmas is a season soaked in love.
We see it in the giving of gifts, the sharing of meals, and the joy of simply being together. It’s in laughter around the table, warm hugs by the door, and thoughtful gestures that say, “You matter.”
Without love, let’s be honest – Christmas wouldn’t feel like Christmas at all.
But love didn’t start with us.
Love began with God.
It was His love that brought Jesus into the world, and it was His love that led Jesus to the cross – for you and for me.
“We love because He first loved us.”
—1 John 4:19 (NIV)
Take that in for a moment: He loved us first.
Before we believed. Before we cleaned ourselves up. Before we even knew we needed Him – He loved us. And that love is what changes everything.
Think back to when you first encountered the love of God.
Maybe it was a quiet moment, a powerful message, or a breakthrough in prayer. Whatever it looked like, you probably remember the shift – how your heart softened, your perspective changed, and your spirit lifted.
God’s love transforms us.
It frees us from the weight of sin, the sting of shame, and the grip of fear.
It silences the lies of the enemy and roots us in truth.
It makes us unshakeable because it reminds us: we are fully known and deeply loved.
And now, we get to share that love.
This Christmas, look for someone who needs to feel it. Someone who’s lonely, overlooked, or hurting. Maybe it’s a neighbour, a colleague, or even a family member.
Invite them over. Listen to their story. Show them kindness.
And if the moment is right – share Jesus. Maybe through a Bible, a prayer, or just your presence.
Because the greatest gift we can give this Christmas is the love that changed our lives.
Let this be a Christmas of love… and life-change.
