Christmas is often described as a time for family – gathering around tables, sharing traditions, making memories. But for those who follow Jesus, there’s an even greater reason to celebrate: we’ve been adopted into God’s family.
Over 2,000 years ago, a Saviour was born – not just to bring peace on earth, but to bring you and me into the heart of God’s household.
When we say “yes” to Jesus, we don’t just enter a personal relationship with Him – we step into a global, eternal, spiritual family.
A family that stretches across cultures, languages, generations.
A family that’s united not by blood, but by the Spirit of God Himself.
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptised by one Spirit so as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free…”
—1 Corinthians 12:12 – 13 (NIV)
You have a role. A purpose. A place.
God created you with a specific part to play in this family of faith – and when we come together, each bringing our unique gifts, God moves powerfully through us.
But let’s be honest: family isn’t always easy.
Maybe you’ve been hurt by someone in the church. Maybe your own family feels fractured. Maybe the idea of “family” stirs more pain than peace. If that’s you, know this: Jesus understands. And He’s able to heal what’s broken and restore what’s been lost.
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
—Ephesians 4:2–3 (NIV)
God’s family is meant to be a place of belonging, healing, and purpose. And you are a vital part of it.
This Christmas, ask Jesus to renew your heart with fresh passion and joy for your place in His family. You were created with intention, gifted on purpose, and dearly loved by your Heavenly Father.
And maybe there’s someone around you who’s forgotten that truth – someone who’s doubting their value or feeling left out. Reach out. Remind them they matter. We’re called to lift one another up, just as Jesus did.
Let this Christmas be more than a season.
Let it be a celebration of family – God’s family, united in love.
