We’ve heard from a few people in our journey through this devotional, all with varying experiences of loneliness and isolation.Â
But there has been one constant throughout each devotional that I hope you have picked up on.Â
Jesus.Â
Jesus has been the Saviour for all four of the voices sharing in ‘Never Alone’ and I hope that it has encouraged you that Jesus is the strongest fighter in your battle with loneliness as well. Â
As declared in yesterday’s devotional, Jesus Christ is a friend that sticks closer than a brother (a phrase derived from Proverbs 18:24).Â
He will NEVER forget you or leave you out. Â
He cares deeply about the things that matter to you and wants to know you personally and intimately. Â
Scripture is full of verses that can build you up when you feel torn down by isolation.Â
Here are a few that you can find comfort and encouragement in in times of painful loneliness:Â
You are never alone when Jesus is with you, which is always.Â
That being said, you still must make every effort to connect with Jesus on a daily basis – multiple times a day even!Â
This looks like prayer (which is simply talking to God), reading His word (where we get to know Him) and worship.  Â
This final element of connection with God is mighty when loneliness is at its height. It reframes our pain and focusses us on praising the One who is omnipresent.Â
And so, our final encouragement to you if you are in a painful season of loneliness is to connect.Â
Firstly, with your Creator and secondly with the people that He has lovingly placed in your life to support you.Â
May God bless you.Â
