Christmas is a season soaked in joy.
We find it in the sparkle of lights, the laughter of loved ones, the giving of gifts, the scent of something sweet from the oven. Joy is everywhere—and yet, somehow, it still feels like something we’re always searching for.
We long for joy.
We crave it in our hearts and hope to pass it on to others.
And while the world offers us glimpses—through traditions, celebrations, and togetherness—there’s only one source of true, lasting joy: Jesus.
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
—Psalm 16:11 (ESV)
That’s not seasonal joy.
That’s eternal joy.
The truth is, the happiness of Christmas often fades when the decorations are packed away and the busyness dies down. But the joy of the Lord? It doesn’t come and go—it stays.
Because His presence never leaves us.
I once read a quote that changed everything for me:
“Joy is not necessarily the absence of suffering; it is the presence of God.”
—Sam Storms
What a powerful shift in perspective.
Joy isn’t about everything being perfect.
It’s not about circumstances lining up or emotions staying high.
It’s about knowing that God is here. With us. Always.
And where He is, joy lives—even in the middle of pain, pressure, or uncertainty.
So today, take a moment to quiet your heart.
Step into His presence.
Not with pressure to feel a certain way, but with a simple invitation:
“Jesus, I want to be with You.”
Because in His presence, joy flows—deep, steady, and unshakable.
Let this Christmas be more than a moment of celebration.
Let it be a season where you discover a joy that lasts forever.
