Hand in Hand

We caught up with Meg, Content Creator, to hear all about February's Hand in Hand conference and get a behind-the-scenes look at how CBN UK got involved. Hi Meg, it’s such a pleasure to have you with us! We’re really excited to chat about the event. To kick things off, can you tell us—what exactly is the Hand in Hand conference, and what drew you to be a part of it?

The Hand in Hand Conference is the national children and family ministry conference held in West Bromwich. Their mission is all about working together to reach every child in our nation, strengthen every family, and disciple every child in our churches for Christ.

We were so excited to be part of this amazing event – it was a brilliant opportunity to introduce Superbook Academy to as many churches as possible. And on top of that, it was such a joy to connect with like-minded people and ministries who are just as passionate about seeing children grow in faith.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

That sounds fantastic! We’d love to hear more about Superbook Academy. What is it all about, and why do you think it connects so well with our audience?

Superbook Academy is an incredible, completely free discipleship resource for churches, schools, and families. It includes over 200 ready-to-use lessons packed with award-winning animations, engaging crafts, games, leader guides, and more.

What makes it so powerful is that every single lesson is rooted in the Bible and points children directly to Jesus – helping them grow in their faith and understanding of who He is. The fact that it’s so accessible and fun, while staying fully Jesus-centered, is what really connects with churches and families.

There must’ve been some standout moments. What would you say was a real highlight from the conference - both for you personally and for us as a ministry?

From a ministry perspective, one of the biggest highlights was the number of amazing conversations we had with church leaders and ministry workers. We were able to network with other organisations and build some powerful connections that have already started to bear fruit. We connected with so many people who are interested in signing their church up for Superbook Academy – which is just incredible!

Personally, a standout moment for me was definitely the bubble gun! When we arrived at the conference, there was a team called the Joy Team, and I just had to get involved. So, we brought our bubble machine and used it to spread joy all around the venue – and, of course, gently guide people toward the Superbook stand! We also had a fun “spin to win” game at our stand where visitors could win sweets, and I may have enjoyed a few of those myself too!

Love that. What are some of the key takeaways you’re bringing back from the event? Anything that really resonated with you or feels important for our ministry moving forward?

A big takeaway was just how hungry churches are for high-quality, Jesus-focused resources that are fun, flexible, and easy to use. People were genuinely excited when they saw what Superbook Academy had to offer – and even more so when they realised it was completely free.

It really reminded me how vital it is for us to keep showing up in these spaces, being present, building relationships, and making it as easy as possible for people to access what we have. There’s a real openness and hunger out there – we just need to keep showing up and serving.

Before we wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share - any reflections or final thoughts on your experience at the Hand in Hand conference?

Just a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the conference happen and to all the amazing people we met along the way. It was such an encouraging reminder of the wider body of Christ, all working together to raise up the next generation.

And if you haven’t explored Superbook Academy yet – what are you waiting for? We’d love to connect with you and help equip your church or ministry to disciple children in a fun and powerful way.
