We’re overjoyed to announce the launch of our very first food pantry in the UK – right in the heart of Wigan – in partnership with The Message Trust and Way Church. This is more than a new initiative; it’s a powerful step toward tackling hunger and food poverty in communities across our nation. 

But this isn’t just about groceries. It’s about restoring dignity, sparking hope, and meeting both physical and spiritual needs. It’s about creating places where people feel seen, supported, and invited into something deeper. 

To bring this to life, we spoke with Emily, Families Co-ordinator at Way Church, who’s at the forefront of the Grocery Store initiative. 

Emily shares that the mission at Way Church is simple – they exist to help people find their way to God. 

That mission comes to life in practical ways through the Grocery Store, where individuals can pick up affordable food while being welcomed into a caring community. From there, the journey doesn’t stop – guests are invited to explore community groups, church services, and friendships that last. 

Emily also highlights the impact of Superbook, a key resource helping parents to disciple their children. Its inclusive approach ensures every child has access to the life-giving truth of the Gospel. 

Thanks to our partnership with Way Church, every trip to the Grocery Store becomes an opportunity for connection – with people and with God. Whether it’s a word of encouragement, a Bible shared, or an invite to a small group, every visit is a step toward transformation. 

The Grocery Store isn’t just a shop – it’s become a hub of hope. 

Our partnership continues through exciting community events like the upcoming Fun Day, where Way Church’s evangelism team will be sharing our bespoke Bibles with families and friends – making God’s Word accessible to everyone who walks through the doors. 

Emily’s passion is clear: everything we do is about connecting people with Jesus Christ. If we can achieve that – even for one soul – it’s all worth it.
