We all know it: we live behind screens now more than ever. With TV, phones, and laptops, our daily interactions have decreased. For Christians, this poses a challenge. Jesus’ last instructions to us when He walked this earth were to “Go, make disciples of all nations.” But how do we do that when we’re always behind screens? If those we want to reach are also glued to their screens, how will we ever connect with them? 

To share the gospel in today’s world, we realised we must meet people where they are: on their screens, in their pockets, on their TVs, accessible at the touch of a button. 

In response, we’ve launched an innovative initiative called ‘Digital Altar Call.’ Amid the flood of online content, this initiative serves as a lifeline, meeting people where they are and allowing them to explore a relationship with Jesus at their own pace. 

The idea is based on principles developed by Mark Greenwood, Reverend, Author, and Director of Evangelism for Elim Churches UK. Mark suggests that people will respond to hearing about Jesus in three different ways, each requiring a different approach: ‘Big Yes,’ ‘little yes,’ or ‘healthy maybe.’ We have taken this concept and reimagined it for the digital age, creating alternative online journeys where users interact with the content by responding with ‘Let’s Go, I’m Ready,’ ‘Tell Me More,’ or ‘Convince Me.’ 

Each of these responses triggers a blend of automated email journeys and online support from our UK team, guiding non-Christians to make informed decisions about following Jesus. Digital Altar Call offers the flexibility and dynamism to transform how people engage with media evangelism, not only through CBN UK but across the nation. Instead of expecting a new generation to fit an old pattern of evangelism, we bring the gospel and the opportunity to respond directly to their pockets.
