Battle for Britain: A Call to Prayer, Fasting, and Revival Across the UK

As we survey the spiritual landscape of our nation, one thing is undeniable: we are in the midst of a battle for the soul of the United Kingdom. Culture is shifting, values are being rewritten, and we are approaching a defining crossroads. Yet, even in this climate of uncertainty, I believe God is raising a remnant – men and women marked by unwavering prayer, radical faith, and the fire of intercession.

Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down with James Aladiran, founder of Prayer Storm – a voice boldly sounding the alarm in this critical hour. As I spent time learning more about James’ heart – not only for the UK but for the nations – it became clear that this wasn’t just an interview about a conference they are holding in August. It was a divine appointment. What’s emerging is more than a gathering. It’s a movement. And it’s a moment we dare not miss.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer Storm: A Movement Born in the Secret Place

Prayer Storm didn’t emerge from a grand organisational blueprint or strategic rollout – it was conceived in the quiet, hidden place of encounter with God. In 2007, James Aladiran heard about a 40-day fast led by Lou Engle, the American intercessor known for pioneering “The Call.” Stirred by the Holy Spirit, James chose to participate through a Daniel fast—a decision that would mark the trajectory of his life.

That sacred season culminated in a historic gathering on 7th July 2007 (07/07/07), when over 77,000 people filled a stadium in Nashville for 12 hours of relentless intercession. It was a day charged with worship, repentance, and cries for revival. Amid the roar of surrendered hearts, James received a clear, prophetic commissioning: “You will mobilise prayer like this in the UK.”

This wasn’t born of ambition or human aspiration – it was a divine appointment.

In the years that followed, James began gathering young people in Manchester to pray. What started as small prayer groups soon grew into city-wide movements. And during one such time of seeking God, two simple yet weighty words emerged: Prayer Storm. Unbeknownst to James, Lou Engle’s ministry in the US had once carried the very same name – an unmistakable confirmation that what God had begun was not only intentional, but interconnected.

Prayer Storm was never just an idea. It was – and still is – a mandate from heaven to mobilise a generation in passionate, persistent intercession for revival.

Prayer Storm Today

Today, Prayer Storm stands as one of the most urgent and prophetic prayer movements in the United Kingdom. It’s not a ministry built on hype – it’s a call to the deep. A call to shake the complacency off the Church and ignite a generation to seek God’s face, not just His hand.

This is a movement marked by fire. By fasting. By fearless intercession. Prayer Storm exists to mobilise thousands – not for blessing, but for breakthrough. To contend for the soul of this nation with relentless passion and unwavering faith.

And this isn’t confined to church buildings. This is prayer in stadiums, on the streets, in cities across the UK. It’s the sound of a remnant rising – bold, unified, and unashamed to believe that revival is not only possible… it’s coming.

The Battle for Britain Conference

In 2025, the call that was birthed in the secret place is reaching a prophetic crescendo. The Battle for Britain Conference is more than an event – it’s a divine summons. Over three days in Manchester, the Church is being called to wake up, rise up, and take its place on the frontline of intercession.

This isn’t just another Christian gathering. It’s a spiritual mobilisation. A trumpet blast in the spirit. A call to the elders, the youth, the newlyweds, the intercessors, and those just learning to pray – to come and contend for the destiny of our nation.

Inspired by the urgency of Joel 2, this conference will centre around repentance, worship, and intercession, with one united cry: “Lord, pour out Your Spirit on this land.”

When I spoke with James, it was clear—this moment is prophetic. Recent legislative shifts – like the legalisation of late-term abortion and the rise of assisted dying laws – are not just political. They are spiritual fault lines. The shedding of innocent blood gives power to darkness. But intercession dismantles it.

We believe what’s coming to Manchester is a tipping point. Just as James was marked in 2007, this will be a marking moment for a new generation. It’s time to push back against apathy, awaken authority, and take our place in the place of prayer.

This is the Battle for Britain – and heaven is watching.

What You Can Do

Here at CBN UK, expanding our national prayer ministry is one of our founding pillars – and we believe strategic partnerships are vital to unlocking revival in this generation. That’s why we’re standing shoulder to shoulder with Prayer Storm. We recognise the hour we’re in. The spiritual atmosphere is shifting. And prayer is not just important – it’s essential.

We believe revival is on the horizon. But it won’t come without intercession. It’s time to rise together, united in purpose and unwavering in prayer.

We’re asking you to respond in three simple but powerful ways:

  1. Come. Be in the room. Be part of the army. Be part of the history God is writing in this nation. I will personally be there, and I would love to see you there too.
  2. Mobilise. If you can’t come, tell someone who can. Share the event in your church, on social media, or with friends and family. This is a moment for the entire Body of Christ to rise together.
  3. Pray. Start now. Whether you fast, intercede daily, or gather others lean in. The ground is being prepared, and the Church must lead the way.

Join the Movement

Friends, this isn’t just a conference – it’s a commissioning. Our nation is in a spiritual battle, but God is raising up an army. And every believer has a role to play. Intercession isn’t a special gift reserved for a few – it’s a call to obedience. A response to the heart of God for His people. Now is the time to stand in the gap, to lift our voices, and to contend for revival. Let’s answer the call.
