Vision Starts Here

Wisdom from Proverbs 29:18

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18, KJV)

The NIV translation puts it this way:

“Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.”

When we bring these translations together, a powerful truth emerges: godly vision comes from divine revelation. Without God showing us His will, we easily drift, letting go of the boundaries that keep us safe, steady, and purpose filled.

Think of it this way…

Imagine you’re a young adult praying about your future career. You ask God for direction, and over time, you sense His leading – perhaps toward medicine. As you study and train, that quiet nudge becomes the path that shapes your future. Maybe you become a nurse, a doctor, a surgeon. That’s not coincidence. That’s God revealing His plan – divine vision guiding your steps.

In moments like these, three simple but life-shaping actions take place:

  1. You pray and seek God’s guidance.
  1. You listen for His wisdom and revelation.
  1. You act on what He’s shown you.

And the result? The direction He provides begins to shape your destiny.

Now picture the opposite. Imagine never asking God which way to go. You might choose a path based solely on personal preference, convenience, or pressure – without knowing whether it truly aligns with the purpose God designed you for.

Here’s the beautiful truth:
God created you intentionally.
He imagined you before you took your first breath.
He wired your passions, talents, personality, and potential.
Because He knows you best, He also knows where you’ll thrive.

This is why seeking His direction isn’t just wise – it’s essential. Without His guidance, we walk in circles. With it, we walk in confidence.

God’s revelation doesn’t just help us survive; it sets us up to flourish. And the impact of living in His will extends far beyond ourselves – it blesses others, too.

So, as you stand in the quiet space between Christmas and the dawn of 2026, carve out time to sit with a Bible, a pen, and an open heart. Pray. Listen. Ask God to lead you into the year ahead – step by step, decision by decision.

And if you don’t yet know Jesus as your Saviour and Guide, we would love to walk with you.

We’d be honoured to pray with you and support you as you begin a new journey with God.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
