Emanuel is a young boy with a big heart. He first came to the Roma preschool in Leskovac, Serbia as part of the breakfast club, but has quickly become a regular and well-loved part of the program.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
At the Little Eden Preschool, many Roma children just like Emanuel are given the chance to receive an education. Many Roma families are not able to send their children to mainstream education providers, and subsequently miss out on basic learning opportunities. As the Roma community is already on the fringes of society, with high-unemployment and severe depravation, a lack of education only serves to further hinder the opportunities available to this community.
But now, thanks to the support of CBN’s Operation Blessing, Emanuel has the chance to change his life for the better.
At the centre of Operation Blessing’s Child Development strategy is the belief that if we can change the story of a child, we can impact and change a whole community. This child-first approach to community transformation, rooted in the Good News of Jesus, is bringing help, hope and healing to Emanuel and his family.
Through the incredible work of our local partner, Emanuel is growing in his learning every day. Not only is he receiving support academically, but he is also learning about God through the local church and discipleship content through Superbook.
Emanuel is a true testimony of what God can do with an open and willing heart. He is not only changing the atmosphere in his class, but at home too. Now, Emanuel’s parents have also accepted Christ and were baptised, living out their faith and testifying to God’s goodness.
We believe that through strategic partnerships with local churches and community-based ministries just like this Roma preschool, CBN’s Operation Blessing is helping to bring long-lasting hope, healing and holistic development to children, families and communities across the world.
